It was a “Who’s Who” of Disney legends and the family of Walt Disney at the Disneyland Resort Monday night.
They were there to honor Disney Legend Marty Sklar, the one-time head of Walt Disney Imagineering, as he received the Diane Disney Miller Lifetime Achievement Award from the Walt Disney Family Museum.

“I’m really proud to be part of an organization that has meant so much to people all around the world,” he said.
The award was bestowed by five of Walt Disney’s grandchildren, led by Chris Miller, the oldest, as part of the museum’s gala fundraiser held at the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.
Richard Sherman, also a Disney Legend, who, along with his brother Robert, wrote many of the famous Disney songs, wrote some new lyrics to the song “Supercalifragilisticexpialdocious” from the movie “Mary Poppins.”
Neil Patrick Harris, who admits he is a big Disney fan, served as emcee for the evening’s entertainment, which also included Daniel Lawrence Whitney, also known as Larry the Cable Guy, and song performances by Jenifer Lewis, “Flo” from the movie “Cars,” and Anika Noni Rose, the voice of “Tiana” from Disney’s “The Princess and the Frog.”
The event was also a fundraiser, with many Disney items auctioned off to those in attendance to raise money for the museum, which is located in San Francisco’s Presidio. One item was a special night in Disneyland’s Dream Suite, including VIP tours of Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, that went for $60,000.
After the festivities inside the hotel, those in attendance were taken inside Disney California Adventure for a private showing of the World of Color.
