Lin-Manuel Miranda Has Finished Filming On 'Mary Poppins Returns'

That’s a picture wrap for Lin-Manuel Miranda on the set of Mary Poppins Returns, the upcoming sequel to the 1964 Disney classic, Mary Poppins. The sequel stars Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins and Lin-Manuel as a streetlamp lighter named Jack. This is jolly good news because with his filming now complete, we are getting closer to being able to to see this much anticipated sequel when it comes to theaters in 2018. How splendid! To commemorate this moment, Lin-Manuel shared this adorable image on his Twitter account:

We’re in love with Tobi! Lin-Manuel later tweeted that Tobi is called “Cast #2 dog” on his badge because on the cast member call sheet, Emily Blunt is listed as #1, and Lin-Manuel is listed as #2. Tobi is Lin-Manuel’s dog.

This tweet has got us even more excited for Mary Poppins Returns! We can’t wait to journey back to Cherry Tree Lane, to catch up with the Banks family, and to once again be filled with wonder and whimsy watching the magical Mary Poppins.

Mary Poppins Returns is directed by Rob Marshall, and the amazing cast includes Angela Lansbury, Meryl Streep, Colin Firth, Dick Van Dyke, Julie Walters, Ben Whishaw, and Emily Mortimer, as well as Pixie Davies, Nathanael Saleh, and Joel Dawson who play three new Banks children. We’re so excited to see Mary Poppins Returns. It’s going to be practically perfect in every way!
