Lucasfilm brought in ‘Lego Movie’ masterminds Phil Lord and Christopher Miller to return Han Solo to the big screen. The film seems to be moving right along as new information is starting to see the light of day. Today, the production names for the all-new Han Solo spin-off film have been uncovered along with a sixth as yet unknown film as well. Read on for more!
The release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens was only the beginning in kicking of this new Lucasfilm Star Wars empire. ‘The Force Awakens’ acted as the first in a brand new trilogy, with self-contained Star Wars spin-of films being released in the off-years. The new spin-off series kicks off in December with with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, but many are looking past that toward 2018, eagerly awaiting the new ‘Han Solo: A Star Wars Story’ film.
Apparently Lucasfilm is getting very serious about the future of the Han Solo spin-off, as the guys from JediNews report that they uncovered the names for the Han Solo anthology movie, and a sixth as yet unknown movie.
The as yet untitled Han Solo movie will trade under the name Carbonado Industries (UK) Ltd – yes with this name they truly have jumped the shark!
The sixth film has a production name of PLT Productions Ltd.
This could be the trading name for Colin Trevorrow’s Episode IX or an as yet unknown anthology film.
Some readers may recognise that plt is a file type used by the 3D modelling software Autocad, and speculation will no doubt rise to a potential animated Star Wars feature. Equally it could be a non Star Wars film from Lucasfilm, such as the upcoming Indiana Jones movie. Let the speculation begin.
